• Bluetooth keyboards or mice must be connected prior to starting a secure exam as it will not allow an applicant to access any settings to pair a device during the exam.
  
  

• Note 1:  You can complete the laptop certification process only ONCE.  Please make sure that the laptop you are using to complete this process is the one you will be using for the examination.
  
  
• You will be required to put in an Institution ID when registering Examplify. After you download Examplify, run the installer and enter the Institution ID followed by your Bar Number and password. The Institution ID for the Legal Specialist Examination is "cblsonline".
  
  
• Note 2: Applicants for the October 2023 Legal Specialist Examination may initiate and complete the certification process with ExamSoft once they receive an email with their admittance tickets after the State Bar’s Department of Legal Specialization has determined eligibility for the examination.  You will not receive a ticket in the mail.
  
  
• Note 3: Even if you have downloaded Examplify for a previous Bar Examination, you must log in, download the latest version and register Examplify again. Under the “Exam Takers” section, log in with your Bar Number and Password that will be sent to you via email from noreply@examsoft.com.
  
  
• Note 4: Installing Examplify and successfully certifying your computer means that you are ELIGIBLE to use your laptop for the Legal Specialist Examination under the guidelines set forth by the State Bar’s Department of Legal Specialization. Applicants planning to use their laptop for the examination must have their laptop certified.  If your laptop or the software is not operational on the day of the examination, you will have to handwrite the examination.
