SOUTH CAROLINA BAR EXAMINATION

South Carolina will be administering an onsite bar exam using Examplify, a secure testing software, provided by ExamSoft.

Deadlines: 
     • Registration Open: January 9, 2024 at 10:00 a.m.
     • During the registration period, you are required to complete the mandatory mock exam.
          The password to open a Mock Exam is 'mock123'.
     • Registration Closes and Mock Exam Upload Deadline: January 25, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.

An email will be sent to the address you provided on your examination application prior to the opening date of registration. The email will contain your password and user ID. After registration opens, email reminders will be sent weekly until you have completed the registration process.

Registration steps: 
You must complete the following requirements within the established date range in advance of the bar examination you plan to take.
     1. Sign Up – Log on to http://www.examsoft.com/SCbar and login with the assigned ID and password in the Exam  Takers section in the upper left of the page.

     2. Confirm your device meets ALL minimum system requirements & Install – Download and Install Examplify on the laptop you will use on exam day! There is a $50 administrative fee if you wish to re-download the software on a new device.

     3. Register – Enter your institution ID, Applicant ID and password to register Examplify on your device.

   
 4. Download Exam Files and Mock Exam – Exam Files and the Mock exam will be automatically downloaded to your computer after successfully registering Examplify. You must download the exam files on the device you will use to take the bar exam.

     5. Qualify – Complete and Upload the Mock examination. Failure to complete the mock exam may prevent you from being able to use your computer on exam day.

     6. Equipment – You will be required to access the Internet following each examination session to upload your answers.

This process must be completed each time you register to take the bar examination, regardless of any previous Examplify registrations you may have completed for this bar examination or any other examination.

Answer Files Upload Deadline: Answer files should be uploaded by: Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at 10:00 pm.  

Due to time constraints, no extensions of the deadline for downloading Examplify and taking the Mock Exam will be given. 

Laptop users may bring their laptops, power cords, a wired external mouse and a wired external keyboard to the exam (no Bluetooth devices); however, no other external devices are permitted.  No mousepads, covers, or cases will be permitted inside the testing building.  All equipment you bring into the exam will be inspected. 

Any attempt to disable or tamper with Examplify’s security features is a form of cheating prohibited by Rule 402 of the South Carolina Appellate Court Rules.
