Responsibilities and Protocol
Please review these items and complete any necessary steps in advance of taking ExamSoft Exams, failure to follow these instructions could result in your laptop malfunctioning during an exam.
Device Requirements
In accordance with the PharmD Program Technology Requirement, students are required to:
Own a functioning laptop that meets the minimum hardware requirements.
Battery must last minimum of 3 hours under normal activity.
You should still bring your charger to exams.
Use a privacy screen during your exams.

In the event that your laptop fails and you do not have the ability to purchase a new laptop prior to the exam, do one of the following:
Use an iPad with a Bluetooth keyboard.
Borrow a laptop from another student or a friend.
Use an old laptop.
Days Prior to Exam
We recommend you backup your computer prior to using ExamSoft. Under certain conditions, system failures can occur.
Ensure you have the latest update of Examplify, available by logging into as an Exam Taker on this page.
Complete “SofTest PreTest with Audio Video 2016 ” or "Examplify Mock Exam” exam to ensure Examplify is functioning properly on your laptop.

Download your exam file prior to arriving to your exam.
Just Prior to Exam
Restart laptop before exam.
Exit out of all programs. (Junos Pulse, iCloud, Dropbox, Box Sync, Spotify, iTunes, Microsoft Office)
Disable Antivirus software (e.g. SEP)
Re-enable antivirus when complete
If there is audio or video associated with your exam, plug in your headphones and unmute the audio prior to starting the exam.
iPad Protocol
If you are taking an exam with short answer or essay questions, you will need to use an external Bluetooth keyboard.
Please note, you must pair your keyboard prior to starting the exam.
Turn on AirPlane Mode and turn off wi-fi connection
Confirm App Self-Lock > "Yes"
Technical Problem during an Exam
Quietly alert a proctor.
Shutdown your laptop by holding down the power button.
Restart computer.
If you have already started your exam, your computer should reboot into the exam environment. If not, you may need to reopen Examplify.
If Examplify requests that you enter a resume code, the proctor will enter it for you.
Technical Problem after Completing an Exam
If any system functionality has not returned to normal after completing an exam, contact ExamSoft:
