Examplify Information for the University of Minnesota Law School

You will receive emails from the Law Technology Office (lawexams@umn.edu) regarding Examplify and timeline and instructions for downloading and installing it.  You are responsible for reading all correspondence, which will be sent to your umn.edu email address.

NOTE: To view the word count for an exam question in Examplify, click the file icon next to the character count and a window will open displaying the word count. You can also highlight a portion of text, click the file icon next to the character count, and check the "Selection" row to view that highlighted text's specific word count.

Requirements
Examplify can be used on virtually any modern laptop computer (i.e. purchased within the last 3-4 years). For specific system requirements, please click on the  icon above (Minimum System Requirements).

  • You should take at least one mock exam prior to using Examplify for your midterm or final exams to make sure everything will function smoothly.
  • You may borrow a laptop from a friend in order to use Examplify. Contact lawexams@umn.edu for help in creating another user account if the laptop in question is being used by another law student.
  • Examplify cannot be installed on a computer with dual-boot capabilities; for example, a Mac running Boot Camp with Windows.  If your laptop is configured for dual-boot capability, you must delete all but the main installation in order to be able to use Examplify. Attempts to circumvent the security features of Examplify, including knowingly using a computer with a dual-boot setup to take exams, may be considered a violation of the honor code.
If you have any questions about Examplify, please email lawexams@umn.edu.
