Exam Taker Information

SofTest may be downloaded multiple times on multiple machines, registration is to the individual user, not the machine. If you used SofTest last academic year, your copy has expired. You must download and register SofTest at the beginning of the Fall Semester, every Academic year.  The Academic year runs from Fall - Summer.

Please register for ExamSoft as soon as possible.  Downloading the software does not automatically register it; you will see a confirmation screen and will receive an email confirming your registration.  SofTest is the only computer program, developed and licensed by ExamSoft, that Vermont Law School utilizes for exam taking.   SofTest enables students to take their exams on their own laptop by blocking all access to files, programs or the internet during the exam. SofTest is used by 42 State Supreme Courts for delivery of the Bar and Legal Specialization exams.

Exam time is stressful enough, please take the time to become familiar with SofTest before sitting for an exam.  Take the Mock exam. The Mock exam runs just as a real exam, even completing the final Uploading Exam File step.  Taking the Mock exam is the best way to practice using SofTest and ensure that your computer is running the software properly.  Remember: YOU are responsible, with ExamSoft support Personnel, for the correct operation of the software.  We recommend that you backup all files prior to installing/running new software.  SofTest may be used on a laptop PC or Mac.  ExamSoft is always releasing new versions of SofTest:
