Exam Taker Information
Note: Your ID is your 9-digit UID

  • You will receive an email containing your account information (From: support@examsoft.com, Subject: ExamSoft Account Creation)
  • You may change your password in the "Change Account Info" section of your SofTest home page once you've logged in (we recommend this)
  • Request password re-send: morenot@ohsu.edu



Once you have installed Examplify, you will not need to install it again.  You will only need to complete software updates when prompted, as with any other software program.

  2. Download and register your version of Examplify (Instructions: Windows | Mac)
  3. Verify registration of your version of Examplifye


Downloading an Exam (Computer)

Taking an Exam (Computer)

Note: 

  • you must take the exam on the same device you downloaded it onto
  • once you start the exam, SofTest may lock out your access to other programs and/or the internet until you finish and close the exam (depending on the exam requirements (some exams may allow access to other programs and/or the internet))
  • if you are taking the exam in class, the instructor will provide you with the exam password so that you may start the exam
  • if you are taking the exam outside of class, the instructor will inform you re: whether or not the exam has a password and/or time limit

    • if there is no download password for the exam, leave the password field blank and click "Next"
    • for exams with an automatic time limit, you will not be able to stop/restart the exam clock, so you will need to complete the exam in one session

  • your exam answer file will auto-save every 60 seconds

  1. Ensure that your device is fully charged on exam day
  2. Bring your power cord to the exam session
  3. Arrive to the exam room 15 minutes early
  4. Place all of your belongings except your device and power cord at the front of the classroom (including your cell phone)
  5. Select a seat (note: you may NOT sit directly next to another student) OR view the seating chart (if applicable)
  6. Prepare your device: plug in your device, close all applications/save all work
  7. Launch SofTest
  8. Select your exam from the "Exam File" (computer) or "Take Your Exam" (iPad) section
  9. Complete all required fields that you can (marked with a red asterisk)
  10. Enter the "Exam Password" (when provided by proctor)
  11. Select "Begin Exam" (your computer will reboot into Secure Mode (if it is a secure exam; if not, it will not reboot))
  12. When the notice screens appear, read them, then click "OK" to advance 
  13. Type "Begin," then click "Begin" (if your exam is timed, this is when the timer starts running)
  14. Follow the instructions to advance through the exam questions
  15. To exit the exam, click "File > Save & Exit"
  16. Click "Close Exam" when prompted
  17. Review your score (or, if you do not want to see your score, you may ask a proctor to submit for you)
  18. Click "Exit" (if you took a secure exam, your computer will reboot (if not, SofTest will simply close))
  19. Upload your exam file (see below)
  20. You MUST show the green upload confirmation screen to a proctor (and return your piece of scrap paper, if you used one) before leaving the room
  21. Locate your belongings and exit the exam room

Uploading a Completed Exam

Note:

  • once you have completed the exam and exited, your answers are saved
  • you will be prompted to upload your exam into the ExamSoft system via the internet
  • if you have disconnected from the internet during the exam, you exam is still saved to your computer and you will be prompted to upload it the next time you connect to the internet
  • you will receive an email confirmation re: your exam answer file upload
  • you may also verify that your exam answer file uploaded successfully by logging into this web site and selecting your "Exam History"
  • you may also set your profile to send you text message confirmation of uploads (login to this web site > Section 3: Setup Notifications)


    Exam Issues

    • If you encounter a problem with your laptop or software during an exam, immediately inform the faculty proctor by raising two fingers (do not ask anyone else for help)
    • If we are unable to troubleshoot the issue within 15 minutes, we will provide you with a paper booklet and Scantron form (we will provide back-ups of these items to faculty in advance of each exam)
